GREENING ALL OF NORTHERN ARIZONA!
Everywhere you look these days someone is talking about
“going green.” The environment is on
everyone’s mind, particularly with the recent oil “spill” in the Gulf. If you want to lessen your impact on the
planet but aren’t sure where to start, we need to talk. If you already do some things for the earth but want
to take it a step further, we need to talk.
I am Northern Arizona’s
Eco-Consultant and my mission is to help YOU live more sustainably. I have a BS Degree in Environmental Studies
and have worked in the Renewable Energy field.
I live off-grid and my home is powered by the sun. So you can see that my interest in the environment
is a LIFESTYLE and always has been. It’s
not just a way to make money, and it’s not a way to be “trendy.” This is the real me, and what you see is what you get. You can count on me to tell it like it is, and to give you an honest answer to any "green" questions you may have.
I offer Green Home Makeovers starting at only $99 and FREE Go
Green Workshops for small groups. In the
future I will also offer Green Business Certification. These services are designed to teach you
simple ways that you can live more sustainably, and cover topics such as Energy
Efficiency, Water Conservation & Purity, Air Quality, and Waste Reduction
& Recycling, to name a few.
I provide Green Home Makeovers and Go Green
Workshops and related products through Green Irene. I am proud to offer Aubrey
Organics 100% Natural Hair, Skin, and Body Care. Aubrey has been
providing Natural Personal Care Products since 1967 so they are a
reputable and reliable company. Finally, I consider social
justice and environmental
responsibility to be closely linked, so I also offer a beautiful line of
Fair
Trade Certified, hand-crafted jewelry, gifts, and accessories from Jolica.
I am
based from my home in Flagstaff and
am available to travel to your home throughout most of Northern Arizona,
including Sedona, Cottonwood, Winslow, and Williams. If you don't live in Northern Arizona, I won't be able to do in-person Makeovers and Workshops, but you can always order products online or send me an email with any questions! I will be happy to confer with you via email or phone to help you make your selections and place your order.
My goal is to teach you how to make small changes that add
up to a big difference for the planet, and for your wallet. The products I
offer are completely optional but you will want to purchase some to help you
reduce your impact on the earth. These products are designed to save you
energy, water, and MONEY and make a real difference in the world.

Calculate Your Carbon Footprint
Want to
know your Carbon Footprint? Reducing your Carbon Footprint helps reduce
greenhouse gasses. The Sierra Club has a quick quiz to help you learn more. Can
you beat my score of 1943 pounds of CO2 per year? Click the image below, then on the website, click the button that looks like it.
The Environment and Social Justice
What does the health of our environment have to do with
social justice? Plenty! The Fair Trade movement promotes increased social
standards including a fair, living wage for workers and artisans in developing
countries, as well environmental standards such as sustainability and
environmental health. For information on
Fair Trade issues in Flagstaff,
please visit the website of my good friends Michelle and Adrian: www.FairTradeFlagstaff.org.
Other Green Businesses To find additional eco-friendly products and services, visit the Green People Website, www.greenpeople.org. They have a very comprehensive listing for any business, product, or service you could want in any location.
Faith and
the EnvironmentOften traditional religious groups make no
mention of environmental issues. Flagstaff's Shared Earth Network is
changing that. "The Shared Earth Network is a faith-based citywide
network for environmental advocacy in Flagstaff. We aim toward goals
and projects that are transformational, dealing with the moral and
spiritual issue of living within limits." (from their website, http://www.sharedearthnetwork.org/)
Shop LocalDid you know that you can improve the environment simply by shopping your local stores? Greenhouse gases are emitted whenever you drive your car, so the less driving you do, the better. Shop locally in Flagstaff whenever possible. Not only do you help the environment, you contribute to the local economy too! Visit Flagstaff independent Business Alliance (FiBA, www.flagstaffiba.com) or the American Independent Business Alliance (AMiBA, www.amiba.net/) for more information on the benefits of shopping locally. (PLEASE NOTE I AM NOT CURRENTLY A MEMBER OF FIBA BUT I BELIEVE IN WHAT THEY DO, SO I AM SUGGESTING THEM AS A RESOURCE.)
Eco-Friendly Flagstaff Eco-Friendly Local of
Flagstaff and Northern Arizona is a new organization connecting
eco-friendly locals to their community. The purpose of Eco-Friendly
Local is to be a one-stop shop for green events, services, businesses,
and more. Please visit their site www.ecofriendlylocal.net
- keep in mind it's under development.
